Another appreciative mother has extolled the benefits of LIL PRODUCT, hair pomade for young people!

This time the good news comes from the blog "for those passionate about beauty and fitness" - BeFlossy. Contributor Stephanie writes about both her curly-haired daughter's and her own responses to LIL PRODUCT in her guest review.  Though a bit dubious at first, Stephanie was super pleased with the results, sharing that after using LIL PRODUCT her little girl's hair held its curls, was shinier, and was soft and completely 'crunch-free' - for days after the first application!  And when it was time for a hair brushing she got another pleasant surprise - no tangles!  There are 'before' and 'after' photos in Stephanie's review - but here's an 'after,' apparently taken following a full day at the beach:

Natural Wonders

Welcome to the weekend! 

Great news - PRODUCT and LIL PRODUCT recently received another glowing online review!  Ashley, on her blog Blessed Barnharts, wrote about her hair styling experiences with PRODUCT and described how her young son loves using LIL PRODUCT to groom his hair before going to preschool (though his mom actually does most of the styling - he's just happy with the results!).  Many thanks to Ashley for her interest in our all-natural, organic pomades, and for sharing their goodness with her audience.

Also wanted to spread the word that another beautiful documentary series is starting on PBS this Sunday night.  The premiere episode of a 12-hour documentary about the United States National Park system will begin an exploration of the stunning and majestic public places that the US has preserved as part of its national heritage.  It promises to be gorgeous and awe-inspiring - an enriching program that will highlight the natural wonders that exist in our part of the world.  Could be a soothing way to zen out before next work week begins ... 

A Family Affair

We were delighted to hear from Karissa, the eco-passionate author of the blog Prissy Green, that she reviewed PRODUCT at the beginning of this month!

In her review, Karissa described how her significant other, Craig, has taken a liking to PRODUCT pomade for hair.  Specifically, she wrote that it was the "FIRST one that he actually tried, put away, then got back out of the drawer himself and has been using for several weeks."  Love it!

You see, PRODUCT was developed by a man who had been disappointed by every hair styling pomade, gel, wax, paste, etc. that he tried.  And to hear Karissa tell it, Craig had much the same experience - his gel lost its hold in wet weather, other pomades left a mess on his pillow ... Junebuggin

June is a dramatic time of year - schools let out & vacation begins, or there's a graduation ... and we can't forget prom!  Then there's summer camps, or family vacations and travel, etc.  I hope to make at least some of my summer days 'lazy.'  We'll see how that goes ...

June is a notable month, too, because our hair pomade for young people, LIL PRODUCT, received it's first online review, from mom & superdumb supervillain blogger Naomi Shapiro. 

Naomi, along with her daughter Roo and her son Jasper, gave PRODUCT and LIL PRODUCT a whirl in May and she shared the results of their experience with her audience earlier this week.  The best part of her post for me was definitely the photos - pretty sweet both of them! - but we also appreciated her positive feedback.  Happy kids, happy parents, happy hair - we like!

Home Sweet Home

Well, we had a whirlwind trip to the East Coast last week - incredible experiences (we attended President Obama's inauguration!!) and intense productivity (meetings with multiple magazine beauty editors).  It was a uniquely exciting trip and we loved every minute of it.  I have to say, though, I'm happy to be back in the land of warm weather and sunny skies ... I'll never take the mild Southern California climate for granted again!

A couple noteworthy tidbits about PRODUCT: 

Sprig.com has added us to its roster of recommended beauty products in the Hair Care section.  Sprig has been a supporter of PRODUCT for a while now, and we're so glad they included us in their selection of the best green offerings - especially since they specify on their 'About Us' page that choose products based solely on what they think is "fabulous and amazing" ...  

Also, Beauty Store Business magazine shared info about PRODUCT with their readership of haircare professionals in the February issue.  We're delighted about this exposure to beauty store owners and stylists!

So even though times are tough economically, it seems PRODUCT is off to a good start in 2009 - Many thanks to all our online customers, salon retailers and editorial & blogosphere boosters!

PRODUCT Junkie

I was reading an online article from Care2 about the No-Plastic Holiday Challenge.  This season's shopping has a tendency to be quite wasteful, with excessive use of paper (much of it not recycled) for cards and wrapping and all those bags, as well as an abundant amount of plastic packaging.  The 'Challenge' blog had a link to another online holiday "movement" - the 2008 Mom-preneur Shop-a-thon.  This shop-a-thon, hosted by Tip Junkie, provides a 'storefront' for handmade items from women business owners and bloggers - we at PRODUCT qualify, so I listed us on their Bath & Beauty page (you've got to scroll down a bit to see us, but we're there!)...

But, back to the idea of reducing the amount of excess packaging materials we are responsible for during the holidays...This post by the 'Crunchy Domestic Goddess' has some excellent alternative suggestions and ideas.  Homemade gifts are a fantastic option - Michelle Breyer wrote about how she's gifting with granola this year (something we actually did last year!).  In fact, there are any number of 'from the kitchen' options - cookies, breads, spiced nuts, and more creative deliciousness. Additionally, bringing your own bags whenever possible, consolidating purchases from different stores in one bag (instead of, say, five!), and buying locally made or minimally packaged items.  'Ask Umbra' on The Grist has a superb post about how many metric tons of carbon were saved by people doing their holiday shopping online last year (an excellent idea, in our opinion) - would you believe it was half a million?!  Finally,  for presentation, there's always the elegant Japanese tradition of wrapping gifts in gorgeous cloths, called furoshiki.

Experiment with your creativity in this year's gifting - your recipients will see that you've put thought into what to give, and will surely appreciate that.

PRODUCT Placement

Good things are afoot here at PRODUCT...We've cracked the Arizona market, adding a new salon retailer this week.  Clients at Tresses Unlimited will now be able to experience the eco-friendly goodness of all-natural, organic hairstyling.  For those of you in the Scottsdale area, take note! 

PRODUCT also got some more 'play' in the blogosphere this week - The 9 to 5 Fashionista shared her love of our fabulously effective formula with her readers, saying it's her "new favorite" and extolling its many fine qualities...We truly appreciate the positive mention!

Also wanted to get the word out that this Sunday, November 15, is America Recycles Day.  I was surprised to find out that this is the 11th annual ARD - I'd never heard of it before.  The slogan this year is karmic, 'It All Comes Back to You.'  That's an important thing to keep in mind as we make an effort to reduce waste and restore our planet.  Recycling (in many places) is one of the simplest things we can do to combat global warming and protect our environment...still the website states that only about 50% of our communities in the US are served by curbside recycling collection programs.  That seems disappointingly low, considering the positive impact recycling has had.  So if you're living in an area that doesn't provide this service, make your voice heard and request it (there's a nifty page on the ARD website that provides email links to local elected officials so that you can do just that) - you'll be generating some good karma for yourself.

Hair Raising

What a Friday this has been!  I was out and about for most of the day and delighted to see how many people were in the Halloween spirit - creative costumes, a holiday, celebratory feeling - it was a real treat. 

This week we received some blog love from the all-beauty, all-the-time nicciknows.com.  Nicci is a makeup artist extraordinaire located here in Los Angeles.  I gave her some PRODUCT to try out a couple weeks ago when she was working backstage at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and she had such good results she also decided to share it with her readers at nicciknows.  We definitely appreciate her support and enthusiasm...

Fall is in the Hair

Well, September is drawing to a close.  I'm delighted to be ending it on a positive note, with two blog mentions this week!  The lovely Monique at Beauty Girl Musings was enthusiastic about PRODUCT's all-natural formulation, and Amanda at Premium Grade Hair used it to style her long, gorgeous wavy hair - even including a photo of the results with her post.  Thank you, ladies, for the shout outs!

So even though you wouldn't know it from the weather here in Southern California, Fall is officially here as of last Monday...I'm highly anticipating the wardrobe shift, and looking forward to trying some new hair styles to go with the fresh fashion.  Elle.com has a slide show of their picks for Top 10 Fall 2008 haircuts -  all of which, I'm happy to say, are looks that can be achieved using PRODUCT.  From short pixie, to chin length bob, to sexy long locks - they're all PRODUCT-friendly.  Here are some examples:
